Craftsmanship
Every frame that leaves our workshop partners is joined using mortise-and-tenon, dowel or dovetail construction depending on the piece. These joints flex and hold under real household stress in a way that glue-and-staple construction simply doesn't.
Finishes are applied in multiple thin coats and hand-sanded between each one, which is slower than a spray-and-ship process but leaves a surface that resists scuffing for years rather than months.
Sustainable sourcing
We buy kiln-dried lumber from small US mills that manage their own timberland on a replanting cycle. That means we can trace almost every board back to the forest it came from, and it means the wood has already lost the moisture that causes warping later.
